Corporate Social Responsibility
Home
Value Retail’s business model is built on the proposition that achieving sustainable growth is one of the most important factors in creating value. Since its founding in 1992, this spirit has extended to every strategy, decision, and choice in the investment of resources in the business. Collectively, this has resulted in the creation of the most productive retail outlets anywhere. Today, this commitment is being applied to developing systems, processes, and services to link the already innovative approach to the best sustainable practices in the marketplace.
Our Vision
Value Retail recognises the importance of taking a proactive approach to social responsibility and environmental management, endeavouring to be at the forefront of this area of management within the shopping tourism sector.
Code of Conduct
Value Retail complies with all relevant legislation and strives to exceed legal requirements wherever possible. We expect high standards of conduct from employees and stakeholders. To this end we treat all people with respect, comply with all laws and regulations, demand integrity in our financial reporting, and have systems and procedures to comply with environmental, and health and safety policies.
Modern Slavery
Value Retail is a major direct employer and a generator of indirect employment in each of the communities in which it works. It creates lasting partnerships with the Village communities and local stakeholders. To read the Value Retail statement on modern slavery and human trafficking, please click here.
Supporting Local Communities and Charities
We aspire to improve the lives of our brands, our guests and our colleagues.
Additionally, we're privileged to partner with a network of 10 charitable organisations through our DO GOOD programme, unified by the shared mission to empower women and children: Barretstown Camp in Ireland and L’ENVOL Camp in France; Make-A-Wish; Great Ormond Street Hospital; IntoUniversity; Adream; Women for Women International; World Connect; charity: water; Brides do Good, and Smart Works. The Bicester Village Shopping Collection’s charity partners are embedded within the local communities in which it operates, as well as in communities in need around the world.
We continue to promote the work of other organisations, including Partners In Health, which works with national governments to provide care and strengthen public health systems in areas including cancer and chronic disease, child health, emergency response, HIV/AIDS, maternal health, mental health, and tuberculosis.
Sustainability
Since its founding in 1992, Value Retail has built a highly productive business model based on authenticity, critical thinking and creativity. Today we are applying these values to further our commitment to sustainability for the communities we work in, our partners and the environments. We are committed to promoting the efficient use of sustainable materials and energy in the fitting and operation of the Village boutiques.
